The West Coast Security Operations department is part of The Walt Disney Company’s Global Security organization. It is one of six enterprise security regions. The West Coast Security Operations department plans and directs Disney’s security function for all non-theme park operations in the western half of the United States and Canada along with all anti-piracy security requirements for North America. The department is responsible for the development and implementation of the region’s strategic and tactical security planning initiatives to reduce risks, respond to incidents and limit exposure to liability that may result in financial loss to the company.

The Production and Protective Security team provides oversight, assistance and response for executive and
talent protection and production security needs worldwide including executive and talent security, production security, set location security, content protection, event security, investigative support, travel security, anf alert monitoring, (including off-site remote locations), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  In an emergency, the Production and Protective Security team can respond, oversee and direct Disney enterprise assistance and support by providing operational capabilities, technical expertise, and policy or procedural recommendations in the performance of essential services along with TWDC Global Security internal partners and TWDC regional security teams around the globe, third party security vendors, law enforcement and emergency services, formulation and dissemination of security related plans as well as being a central communication point for executive security and production security related incidents.

Responsibilities
Provide protective security coverage to individuals identified by Global Security management.
Directly responsible for day to day supervision of executive protection activities which includes the development, guidance, and implementation of protective security policies and procedures for The Walt Disney Company’s enterprise executive and talent security programs.
Partner with regional security management on executive international activities collaborating on development of security plans and operational logistics.
Travel as needed to conduct advance visits to event sites, partnering with intelligence gathering sources and coordination with local, state, federal and international agencies during all preplanning activities.
Provide and coordinate security related services including, but not limited to, executive protection, talent protection, emergency planning, risk assessments, and special event planning.
Advise and partner with Global Security Management and other key company leadership to deliver a strong analytical approach in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining the highest standards in protective security strategies.
Improve the risk identification processes by developing new sources of information and by pursuing cutting edge technology and techniques in development of all security plans.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments by develop methods and requirements to standardize, analyze, communicate and mitigate potential threats.
Assist the Production Security team when needed to conduct investigations, assessments and provide recommendations and/or implement security measures needed to protect talent, events, facilities and intellectual property.
Partners with The Walt Disney Company Sourcing and Procurement, Labor Relations and Legal teams in identifying bonded, insured and licensing compliant third-party security vendors. Directly monitors and conducts assessments of vendor compliance to established security requirements, licensing, training and effectiveness of third-party security vendors.
Build relationships and improve business processes to identify stakeholder needs, identify potential gaps, and enhance the TWDC security culture.
Contribute to the team effort by offering expertise and opinions to senior management; integrating objectives with other functions; accomplishing special projects as needed, sometimes as project lead, other times as contributing team member.
Successfully support special events and other activities by establishing action plans, timetables, and outcome measurements; obtaining and allocating resources; reviewing progress; making course corrections as needed.
Assists the management team in planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
Achieve financial goals by establishing objectives; developing and monitoring budgets; controlling and reducing costs; optimizing use of company assets.
Build positive working relationships with TWDC business partners and law enforcement/government officials during all assignments.  As part of this responsibility, develop a close working relationship with the US Department of State and US Secret Service.

Basic Qualifications
5 -   10 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility within private sector corporate security or a related public sector organization, including 5 years of managerial experience.
Experience leading protective security details in the United States and abroad.
Experience conducting security advances, planning and managing special events, investigations and risk assessments.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated track record of partnering with various organizations within a large global corporate environment to achieve specific goals and objectives.
Strong strategic and operational capabilities with experience assessing and executing operational contingency plans based on threats and exposure to business executives.
Working knowledge of physical security systems to include, but not limited to intrusion detection systems, CCTV, alarm monitoring systems, communications devices, and other security related software/hardware.
Working knowledge of production security as required to conduct investigations, assessments and provide recommendations and/or implement the security measures needed to protect talent, events, facilities and intellectual property.
Demonstrates resiliency, sound judgment, and tact in dealing with business and corporate challenges.
Attention to accuracy as well as the ability to work under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, and prioritize according to business needs.
Maintain a valid Guard Card, Exposed Weapons Permit, and driver’s license.
If identified and approved by the CSO, will be required to maintain a valid CCW Permit.

Preferred Qualifications
Strong cross-group collaboration and relationship management skills including directing and coordinating remote teams to achieve deliverables.

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position.
