Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Internal Audit & Compliance, the Vice President of Corporate Security is responsible for overseeing physical security operations and related projects for all facilities owned and/or leased by SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. and its subsidiaries throughout the United States.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 12 years experience in the security field, including familiarity with corporate policies and practices related to physical security, executive and personnel protection; investigations; loss and incident reporting/analysis; risk and threat assessment/analysis; crisis management planning and emergency response; guard force operations and management; and integration of security into business operations.
Prior law enforcement management experience required.
Prior corporate security management experience preferred.
Experience in International Operations a plus.
Investigative experience with some working knowledge of IT.
Must have experience with technical security systems and programming of security systems with a demonstrated ability to manage security system projects for multiple facilities.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, and ability to engage in and direct multiple tasks.
Experience collaborating with multiple disciplines such as regional facilities, legal team, HR, IT, and procurement to implement policy and protocol/procedures to ensure the protection of the company’s personnel, facilities, and assets (to include animal collection).
Ability to work independently as well as to work as part of a team.
Ability to prepare and deliver clear, succinct, and audience-appropriate written and oral reports to all levels within the corporation.
Ability to travel up to 25%-30% (domestic and some international)
Ability to work odd hours when needed
Ability to assess needs and lead a professional security team attuned to corporate culture.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain value-added security services that are risk-based and consequence-driven. Includes physical security policies, protocols/processes, and guidelines to reduce risks and limit exposure to liability.
Develop and direct all company programs and operations related to security intrusion detection and access control.
Partner with Revenue and Finance departments to maintain effective controls to mitigate retail theft concerns.
Develop, implement and manage company-wide security risk management programs including but not limited to workplace violence, travel security, and emergency response, security awareness and education/training programs.
Direct ongoing security threat assessments, investigations of internal breaches and incidents; security systems integration.
Create, implement, and evaluate emergency response plans with park leadership and other internal stakeholders.
Develop short-term and long-term company-wide security operation goals by analyzing business and global trends
Establish and maintain effective relationships with Federal, State, and local law enforcement and regulatory agencies that affect company security operations.
Manages corporate security budget expenditures and allocates resources appropriately.
Responsible for 24-hour crises response.
Manage security training
Coordinate information sharing and best practices implementation.
Advise senior management about security operations and strategy.
Oversee executive protection program and security for the corporate offices.
Liaise with IT to communicate about cyber security function.
Coordinate security for events outside of the parks.
Meet regularly with senior management to align security with other initiatives
Oversee the intelligence gathering function
Manage security reporting system
Maintaining relationships with industry security contacts and participate in nationally recognized security related organizations to share trends and ideas that are needed to be proactive.
